In geoparks, there are areas where research has yielded insights into the values of the earth, ecosystems, and people, and the relationships between them. These are designated as “sites,” locations that are to be conserved so that as many people as possible can learn about and benefit from the area's charms in the future. Here, we introduce the sites of Shikoku Seiyo Geopark that show the relationship between the land, ecosystems, and people, for which steps are being taken to protect and preserve them for the future.
