For people living on the earth, natural disasters are an ever-present threat. Shikoku Seiyo Geopark, in particular, suffered damage from torrential rainfall that hit west Japan in July 2018, and is now making progress toward recovery. Here, we introduce the kinds of natural disasters that occur in Shikoku Seiyo Geopark, the efforts being made to recover from the torrential rainfall, and steps that have been taken to prepare for future disasters.
